San Francisco:

The Connecticut Yankee 100 Connecticut St. 415-552-4440 theyankee.com

Owned by Fritz Frisbie who grew up in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. Fritz was 9 years old when he went to the World Series in '67. His dad told him he could go to one game but it would have to be game 6. LUCKILY there was, and it was a MUST WIN. Sitting behind a pole along the 3rd baseline with the Green Monstah so close. When the Sox won the '04 WS the roar at the Yankee was goosebump inducing. After it was over, the crowd sitting on the back patio smoking cigars looking at the full red moon repeating "I can't believe the Red Sox just won the World Series" over and over.

San Mateo:

3rd Ave Sports Bar & Grill 77 E Third Ave., 650-340-9872

Red Sox fans are always welcome! The owner, John Chin, grew up in Medford. His first trip to Fenway at age 10 was to watch the duel between Sonny Seibert & Vida Blue. $6 for a box seat 3rd baseline! The bar was jammed packed for the playoffs in '04 and when the Sox beat the Yankees the noise was deafening. "That series was the World Series for me." The 50 State Challenge Jimmy Fund Fundraiser was held there in '09.
